Still Getting My Act Together - June 19, 2011
The York Theatre presents a staged reading of "Still Getting my Act Together"- a sequel to the ground-shattering "I'm Getting my Act Together and Taking it on the Road" of 1978.
Gretchen Cryer, Betty Aberlin and Margot Rose reprise their original roles as we see what's become of these characters thirty years on. John Hillner and Scott Wakefield join in, and I have the honor of playing the daughter of Heather (Gretchen Cryer) in a story that resonates with the women's movement, mothers and daughters of all stripes, lost loves, lost chances and bold resolve.
West Hyler directs and Chris McGovern is at the helm of a rockin' five piece band.
Paired with a reading of the original play, it makes for a fantastic evening of theatre. Only 8 opportunities to see one, or both of these pieces, now through June 26th.
